My daughter and granddaughter are there, friends I made later in life are there, people who I mentored in their youth and who are now grown are there. My daughter is grateful for my unconditional love and support, for setting a good example of a strong, independent woman. My friends are grateful to have had me during times of sorrow as well as times of celebration. The people I mentored are grateful that I was their ally and helped them break barriers. There is cake and champagne.
