Like my clients, it may be…

• making a difference in the lives or careers of your employees, students, patients, or clients
• supporting the environment, diversity & inclusion, health, art, architecture, children’s education, girls and women’s empowerment, real estate, or anything else.

But have you considered that…

• being an amazing spouse, a good parent, or grandparent that leaves a legacy in your children and grandchildren’s life,
• or bringing happiness and joy to your circle of friends and family 

could also be part of your purpose?

What if BOTH categories were an integral part of your purpose or “sacred work” as my colleague Beverley Barnes calls it?

Your purpose–what brings meaning to your life–, can take many forms. And some of its forms are all too often ignored. 

For many of my clients, whatever their gender identity is, being a good parent or a good partner, is as important to them as making a difference in the world with their work.

It’s why, when I help them clarify their purpose in my Land the Career You Love coaching program, we look at the holistic picture to ensure we integrate it all. 

Career and purpose coaching need to be holistic to make a true difference in people’s lives and ensure fulfillment at ALL levels, not just at the professional level disconnected from the rest.

It is also the reason why in the past eight months, I have been quieter and not sharing as much. I’ve been putting attention to another important part of my purpose and sacred work while continuing to serve my 1:1 clients. 

As you probably know, a BIG part of my purpose is to help high-achieving leaders discover the work that reignites their passion and makes a difference. 

Well, I recently realized that there is another part of my purpose that is as important. This is being an amazing partner and deepening the relationships with my loved ones. 

I had always known it was important to me, but I had never considered it part of my purpose. So, I would spend a lot of time on this part of my life, but I would dismiss it as outside the scope of my purpose or my “work.” I would feel some kind of guilt that I would spend so much time on it at the expense of what is supposed to be “real work and purpose in the world.”

In the past few months, I realized that being an amazing partner is an integral part of my purpose and calling. It is not outside of it. It is IT. When I spend time and energy on it, I’m actually living my purpose and doing my sacred work in the world.

• Do you know what are the components of your purpose and your “sacred work’?
• Do you dismiss anything that does not look like what society tells you should be “work” or “purpose”?
• Do you hold a holistic view of your purpose?

• Are you letting things unfold in their own natural timing or are you forcing things to happen before the timing is right?
• Are you going with the flow of the river of life while taking the necessary actions you are called to take–this does not mean being passive–, or are you trying to push against the flow of the river in your life?

The second option is exhausting, will make everything hard, and will often not get you where you want to go. Rather the opposite.

• “Do you have the courage to bring forth the treasures that are hidden within you?”

These two questions are at the CORE of doing the WORK YOU ABSOLUTELY LOVE.

… and at the core of what I do with my clients.

• I help them answer these two questions with a resounding YES.  
• I help them find their hidden treasures and the courage to bring them worth into their work.

Because without that, you CANNOT do the work you absolutely love. 

How much you love your work is directly correlated with how well you can answer these questions with a YES.

I just submitted a proposal to speak at an International Conference!

Being a thought leader and speaking internationally, giving inspirational talks around the world is one of my long-time dreams.

Claiming it publicly is scary.

and I’m owning it. Whatever happens. 

It is TIME.

I’m feeling a strong nudge in that direction.

This is what my heart wants. 

and I’m listening to it, despite fears and doubts.

I highly recommend it.

It is bringing me inner peace as I start 2020, a new year and a new decade of my life.

I recommend this practice if you want to start 2020 with more peace of mind, empowerment, and acceptance of where you are in your life.

It may sound confronting or heavy at first, but it is SO worth it. It really works!

Try it and let me know what you find out.

It is like when you look at your finances. It may be uncomfortable at first, and then it brings you peace of mind to know where you are at.

Here is what I did.

It took me about 2-3 hours of reflection/journaling.

I looked back at the 3 past decades of my life.
– 2010-2019
– 2000-2009
– 1990-1999

For each decade, on one piece of paper, I listed the main themes in terms of achievements and personal/professional transformation and lessons learned (work, life, personal development, travels, and any themes that are personal and meaningful to me and to my own journey. Eg. Living my life purpose, becoming bilingual, discovering my passions, doing what I love).

Then, I noticed the overarching theme for each decade and the evolution from one decade to the next.

As a result of it:

• I feel great as I got in touch in touch with how much I and my life have positively transformed and evolved in 3 decades, despite challenges along the way.
• I notice the evolution decade after decade, and how what I did in each decade prepared me for the next. I can see that there is a natural progression and unfoldment that I could not see at the time. Seeds planted in one decade beautifully blossomed into the next.
• I feel so much clarity about the past three decades of my life and what the themes have been.
• This clarity empowers me as I enter a new year and decade of my life.
• I feel at peace and more accepting of where I am in my life, trusting that things are unfolding for my best and highest good.
• I know that I don’t have to do it all alone: I can see a bigger plan and higher power at play in the unfoldment of my life purpose that is with me on this journey. I can surrender to it, instead of pushing, efforting, and complaining about things not going MY way.

I want that for you too.

It is SO worth it.

I landed at San Francisco International Airport with my two suitcases exactly 12 years ago today. So, I GET to CELEBRATE!!! 🎉🎉🎉

…and reflect on the many DREAMS that I’ve manifested since I arrived.
This is a practice I’ve my clients do. Take stock of all their many achievements (in the past 1, 5, 10, 20 years)
I encourage you to do the same! It is a great confidence booster. My life is far from being perfect and I’m navigating some new challenges this year.
AND
I’ve achieved SO MUCH in the past 12 years; it’s time to CELEBRATE and take stock of that.

I am modeling what I teach. I’m walking the talk. 
 So, here it is:
🔥 I manifested my long-time dream to move to the San Francisco Bay Area.
⭐️ I worked for one of the biggest Internet company in the world. (Yahoo!)🔥 I achieved my dream of becoming bilingual (English-French.)
⭐️ After 10 years of working in User Experience, I reinvented my career to follow my passion and calling.
🔥 I went back to school to study Psychology and Coaching.
⭐️ I stepped into my purpose by starting my own career reinvention coaching business. (a long-time dream of mine)
🔥 I developed a successful business that I love, that totally supports me financially.
⭐️ I’ve worked with hundreds of clients guiding them on their own career reinvention through 1:1 and group coaching.
🔥 I’ve lead 80+ workshops and talks about “Discovering the Career You Love” and “Making Your Own Career Shift.” talking to a total of 1,000+ people.
⭐️ I was invited to speak on 8 success panels to share the successes in my business and life.
🔥 I’ve GROWN tremendously on the personal and professional levels.
⭐️ I’ve worked directly with 20+ business, love, personal, relational, and spiritual mentors.
🔥 I’ve taken 20+ training courses and programs (ranging from 2-day to year-long programs) related to business, professional, personal, and spiritual development.
⭐️ I climbed the highest peaks in the continental US and four 14,000 peaks in the US and Europe.
🔥 I realized my long-time dream of rock, snow, and ice climbing, moving past doubts and fears.
⭐️ I went over my fear and started downhill skiing at 35, skiing black diamond slopes in just a few months after my first day on the slopes; and I started backcountry skiing.
🔥 I went on a dozen snow camping and backpacking trips.
⭐️ I visited some of my dream locations (Scotland, Costa Rica, Monument Valley).
🔥 I’ve gone on many solo trips (ranging from a weekend to 3 weeks) – locally, nationally, and internationally. – driving, flying, camping, staying in rooms and Airbnb.
⭐️ I manifested my dream apartment in the SF Bay Area Hills with a hot tub and a breathtaking view of the Bay.
🔥 I indulged in my passion for fashion, by hiring a high-end Stylist and Image Consultant and participating in two professional photoshoots, with some of the best photographers in the industry.
⭐️ I explored my passion for dancing and learned partner dances (waltz, ballroom dances, salsa, swing, etc), and practiced many free-form dances.
🔥 I dived into my passion for authentic relating by taking weekend workshops and year-long courses to master relational skills.
⭐️ After many years of searching, I found a spiritual community that I love.

There is more, but that’s a good start! Thank you for reading! It is special for me to share all of that with you. Both vulnerable and exciting.

Two weeks ago, I went to Santa Cruz (California) to attend a transformative weekend combining Enneagram, Relational Mastery, Grief, and Shadow work with another of my mentors and other visionary leaders committed to their own transformation.

Why does this matter?

Because I’m committed to my own personal and professional development.

I am committed to MY growth so that I can commit to YOURS and the growth of my clients.

I keep growing and expanding so that I can expand the container of transformation I am holding for you and for my clients.

I just helped another of my client clarify her ultimate career dream and the work she is here to do on the planet.

After 4 months of working together, this is what she said in our session last week: 

“It’s like a North Star I can finally see and some kind of purpose.
This is the first time I’m seeing that for a very long time. It was hidden.
I’ve something I can work towards. It’s a huge relief, to not have this constant fear that I don’t know what I want; that what I’ll do will be a mistake.”

She started working with me in May after attending my workshop at General Assembly in San Francisco. 

When we started together, like many of my clients, she was anxious about her future:

 “I don’t know what I’m here for, what I’m supposed to do.
I fear that what I’ll do will be a mistake.”

Now, only four months later, she is clear about her dream career and her purpose. She has found her North Star.

She wants to “found a business that develops solutions to help close the gap of inequality for women in the workplace. Covering aspects such as equal pay, equality of opportunity, and equal representation in executive leadership.”

She is only 27 and I know this will happen in her lifetime.

This is her DESTINY and she has what it takes to fulfill it.

You do too.

Whatever yours is.

and however old you are.  I’ve helped clients in their 20’s all the way to clients in their 60’s.

If they did it, so can you.
