How I listened to my intuition and flew to France on a 3-day notice

How I listened to my intuition and flew to France on a 3-day notice

Bonjour de France!

This is where I am as I am writing this.

At my grandma’s home in the South West of France.

Three weeks ago, I had no idea I would be flying to France. There was no trip to France planned in my schedule for a while.

Monday, two weeks ago, as I was talking to my 101 years-old grandma over the phone, I found her voice and energy extremely low, lower than it has ever been.

My heart sank.

My grandma who I love very much recently spent three months at the hospital after falling and breaking her femoral neck last February. She has been back home for a few weeks but with limited autonomy and moving on a wheelchair. This has been extremely hard for her.

On that call, I heard my intuition speak very loudly:

“Go to France and see her. She needs your love and presence right now.”

On Friday, four days later, I bought my ticket.

On Saturday, I was on the plane to Paris.

On Sunday night, I was giving her a big hug.

This is an example of me following my intuition and taking inspired action aligned with my values.

3 of the keys of living a fulfilling life and career

1. I listened to my intuition: I heard it very loudly. I don’t always hear it so loudly; this time was particularly clear. I initially resisted it. I had other plans; it required shifting things around, and facing disappointing people. It was hard. I faced some of my demons. But, everytime I would speak to my grandma the following days, it was so loud and clear that I could not resist it. I knew I had to go or I would regret it.

2. I took inspired action: This action was not planned or prepared. It was a spontaneous action guided by my heart and my intuition. It felt right. I felt inspired to do it. It did not feel forced or constrained. It emerged organically. I felt more alive as a result. This is what inspired actions look and feel like.

3. I aligned my action with my values: My grandma is one of the most important people in my life. I love her very dearly. She has given me so much love over the years. I wanted to give back and be present with her the same way she has been for me. Caring and showing acts of love to the people I love, especially my family,  is a top value for me. Every time I act on this value, my life feels fulfilled, rich, and meaningful. This is what happens when you live according to your core values.

I am so glad I did all of these things. Since being here, my grandma has felt much better. I saw her regaining some vitality and strength. I fulfilled part of my purpose by being with her.

So, let me ask you,

How are you doing on these three keys?

  1. Do you listen to your intuition? or your gut feeling? (or inner guidance) Are you actually in touch with it? or do you listen to the voice of “should” and fears? Or do you even don’t know maybe because you have lost touch with your intuition for a long time?
  2. Are you taking inspired actions? or actions dictated by society and what people around you tell you “should” do? Do you wait to act until you have a super well crafted, impeccable plan?
  3. Are you living your life according to your values? Do you even know what your values are and what brings fulfillment and richness to your life? What your key ingredients and drivers of fulfillment are.

Check with yourself right now. This is important. This is your life.

If you answer no to most of the questions above, chances are that you are lacking significant fulfillment in your work or life.

And yes, these totally apply to work as well. They are essential to be happy in your work.

If so, what are you going to do this week to change that?

Or, if you answered yes to most of these questions:

What are you going to do to align even more your life and work with those keys?

Hit reply and tell me. I would love to hear and support you.

To you living your life and career on YOUR own terms.

This is what I stand for.

I found my tribe… and how you can too (pics inside)

I found my tribe… and how you can too (pics inside)

Do you know what is an added benefit of reinventing your career to do work you love?

Well, you find your tribe.

  • people in your life you fully resonate with.
  • like-minded people who are interested in the same things.
  • people who love what you love.
  • people you can be 100% yourself with.

Imagine…. how would that feel like for you?

This is what has happened for me on my journey to reinventing my career and keeps happening even now. It happens for many of my clients too.

Let me show you in pictures.

In Santa Fe (New Mexico), with other Visionary women who share my passion for making a difference in the world with our gifts.

In Los Angeles (California), with my spiritual community for a conference. People who share my passion for spiritual growth.

In Pacifica (California), With amazing business owners like me. We meet for a 3-day retreat twice a year to support each other in our business development and in our life.

In Santa Barbara (California), among other amazing women visionaries committed to bringing their gifts to making the world a better place.

And the list of pictures goes on and on….

My life is literally overflowing with communities of like-minded people.
So much that I have barely enough time in my calendar to connect with all….

Quite the opposite of what I was feeling when I was in my previous career, working in Tech. Not that there is nothing wrong with Tech. If this is your true passion, this is wonderful! You probably have found your tribe.

But like any career field, when this is not your true passion, you can feel quite lonely and isolated at timeseven thinking there is something weird or abnormal about you.

Can you relate?

Well, I remember feeling that way often.

  • I did not have many people who shared my interest for personal growth and deep authentic conversation, either at work and even outside of work.
  • I was craving something that I could not get anywhere.
  • I felt lonely.
  • I thought: “maybe there is something wrong with me that I feel this way”. “I am too shy”, “I am weird”, “I’m too introverted,” I should be better at small talks,” “I should work harder to make more connections.”

I did not realize that I was just not in my element. Like a fish that is outside of the water.

….There was nothing wrong with me. I was just not where I am meant to thrive.

  • I did not know, so I doubted that I could even find a place with like-minded people, people who could talk about personal and spiritual growth for hours. Go deep, talk about how they feel, be vulnerable, and real.
  • I thought this place did not exist. Because I could not see anything like that around me.

This is only when I started on my path to reinventing my career, and studying life coaching that I realized that there were people like me.

I started finding them, one person at a time.

And the more I got immersed in my passions, by taking classes, attending mindfulness conferences, and then ultimately starting my own business, the more I would meet MY people, people from my tribe.

Can you relate?

  • Do you feel lonely and isolated in your work or life?
  • Do you think there are no people like you in the world?

Well, I can tell you: IT’S NOT TRUE.

It is simply because you don’t see them yet; you are not in the right circles to find them.

There is NOTHING wrong with you.

Let me say that again.

There is NOTHING wrong with you.

Breathe that in.

Start your journey, do more of what you love, and you’ll find them naturally, one person at a time. …. and meeting them will help you step into your true self even more.

Finding work you love is more than a career journey, it is a journey of finding yourself, your tribe, and thriving in your life at all levels.

I know. I have experienced it.

it is why I created a group program to support people wanting to reinvent their career. To make it easier for people in career transition to find their tribe. To facilitate that process.

And my clients who are part of it are loving the community support. It does make a difference.

What is one step you are going to take this week to do more of what you love and be more in touch with your tribe?

Let me know. Hit reply and share with me.

Sending blessings on your journey,

You got this!

The #1 question to ask yourself to do work you love

The #1 question to ask yourself to do work you love

I have a question for you.

“Can you remember who you were, before the world told you who you should be?” (Charles Bukowski)

Really take the time to ponder this.

This is probably the most important question you need to ask yourself if you want to be truly fulfilled in your work and in your life.

Why?

Well, it’s pretty simple.

If you don’t, your work and life will be aligned with who you think you should be.
…what you think you should love.
…what you think you should be good at.
…what the world thinks you should do to be successful.

Do you think living a life of shoulds will ever make you happy and fulfilled?

Be fully honest.

No, it won’t. Ever.

Or you are lying to yourself. or you are in denial.

Should in one of the biggest killers of happiness and fulfillment.

So, let me ask you this question again in different ways:

  • Are you able to make the difference between who you truly are and what you think you should be?
  • Between what you love doing and what you think you should love or people say you should love?
  • Between what you are naturally good at and what the society says you should be good at to succeed?

Be honest with yourself.

The only thing that will ever makes you truly fulfilled in your career is doing work that is aligned with who you truly are
…what YOU love doing (not your friends, coworkers, parent, or spouse)
…what YOU are naturally good at.
…what makes YOU feel successful.

There is NO other way.

I can tell you. After working with hundreds of people over the past 5 years.

This is why the first part of my process with my clients is about uncovering their authentic self

Removing the layers of conditioning and going back to your authentic self is the prerequisite to discovering the Work you love.

To your true, authentic, best self!

The #1 reason many people are unhappy in their career…and what to do about it

Studies show that 80% of people doesn’t enjoy their work.

The clients I work with are often unhappy and miserable in their current career. They want to find a career  they love and that brings  meaning and fulfillment , but they have no idea how to discover and make it happen. They are totally confused about the steps to take to find it. Often, they have worked hard to discover it on their own or with the help of a career counselor or books, and they remain totally stuck and hopeless. The main reason is they often don’t look at the root of the problem.

The #1 reason so many people are unhappy in their career and can’t find the career they love is way deeper than what we generally think.

But when you address this reason, the path to your career and life fulfillment appears clear in front of you.

Check out the video to find out how to find that path!

Tell me what you discover about your own career path in the comments below.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

YOU are beautiful

I deeply believe that each human being on this planet — each one of us with no exception — is beautiful.

We all have a unique brilliance deep inside of us, formed from our unique gifts and talents. Not only our talents and gifts are beautiful but also our humanity, vulnerability, fears, emotions, and how much we are able to love. It is because we are human and we care, that we are also scared, sad, and angry at times. All of this is part of being human.

As a career and life purpose coach, I see this beauty in each person I come in contact with. It saddens me that so many of us don’t see how beautiful we and others are at the core, because we focus so much on our flaws. I want all of us to see this beauty, and to develop compassion for our humanity and “imperfections.” The more we are able to see the beauty in ourselves and develop self-compassion, the more we are able to see the beauty in others and develop compassion for them instead of rejecting them.

This is why this message is so important. It brings peace inside and peace in the world by allowing acceptance for our brilliance and humanity.

Spread the word with me!

Warmly,

Isabelle
