I am wishing you a magical 2018 full of everything that matters most to you.
I want to share with you a practice that I do every year to set an intention for the New Year.
I am not a fan of “resolutions” and I don’t use them myself, as I think they carry a sense of “should” and “forced will power” that is uninspiring and counterproductive from the start. This is one of the reasons they fail.
Instead, I connect with a theme for the year that uplifts and inspires me.
A theme I want to step into during the New Year.
A theme I would love to embrace in my actions and in my way of being.
A guiding intention for the whole year.
Not a forced theme or “should” but a theme that organically wants to emerge through me. Something that inspires me when I think about it.
In the past few years, some of my yearly themes, have been “Freedom,” “Extraordinary Love, Abundance, and Ease.” They can be anything you want: Trust, Play, Creation, etc. Your only limit is your imagination and inspiration. Let yourself be inspired and excited about it.
This year, my theme is “Falling in Love with my life.”
It is about:
- Embracing more fully the beauty and joy that are already present in my life as it is.
- Aligning even more with the joy and miracles of everyday moment.
- Expanding it by doing things that bring me joy and make me fall deeper in love with life.
Like seeing the beauty of this windy morning as I woke up a few days ago in France.
…or basking into the magic of the village of my childhood with all the holiday lights.
…and spending special moments with my loved ones in France during this holiday season.
Playing scrabble with my mom and my 100-year old grandma. (Yes, she still plays! Amazing, eh?)
Playing with my 6 year-old niece and 4 year-old nephew.
Meeting my cousins for lunch in a Parisian restaurant.
Going for a walk in the countryside of the South West of France with my dad.
and many more!
What is your theme for 2018?
What does it look like?
What do you need to embrace to embody this theme?
What do you need to release?
Tell me. I would love to hear!
Love and blessings to you and your loved ones for a very special 2018!
Isabelle
