Can you answer this question?

Can you answer this question?

What brings you JOY?

Can you answer this question?

I mean: answer it honestly, without censoring yourself to make a good impression or worrying about what people think about what you love?

If not, that may be one of the things stopping you from finding the career you love.

I’ve seen it with several of my clients.

  • Some just cannot answer that question.
  • Others have negative judgments (or even shame) about some of the things they TRULY ENJOY doing and they hide them.

How can you find the work you love if you don’t know what brings you TRUE JOY and HAPPINESS or if you are thinking it’s not okay to love what you love?

It is very hard.

The first step is becoming aware of what you enjoy and what your unique ingredients of fulfillment. are, independently of what people think or what you think these “should” be.

This is why we start with that in my coaching programs.

A good way to begin is to collect your happiness (or even “micro happiness”) moments at the end of the day or week. At the end of the day, take a journal and write down the moments, even brief, when you experienced joy during your day or week.

Keep me posted on what you find!

To the work that brings you JOY!

Isabelle

P.S. One of the things that bring me joy and that I used to hide and be embarrassed about is FASHION and dressing up. I used to judge it, thinking it was “superficial”  and “not smart enough” to like fashion and beauty. Fashion is often poo-pooed in our hyper-masculine and hyper-analytical western cultures and considered “weak” or “superficial.” I am not hiding it anymore! This is part of who I am and I own it. I’m not less smart because I LOVE fashion.

Back from Santa Cruz, California… the BEST thing about doing work you love!

Back from Santa Cruz, California… the BEST thing about doing work you love!

Do you know what is one of the BEST things about doing work you love?
Well, read on to find out!

I’m back from a fun and deeply transformative 3-day workshop on the Enneagram and relational skills with one of my mentors and masterful facilitator, Ben Saltzman.

I LOVED every moment of it. There were lots of deep and authentic connection, some profound personal growth and transformation, and lots of fun.

I was in my element. Personal development is my #1 passion.
I LOVE taking all kinds of workshops and classes to know myself better and transform old patterns holding me back from being the full expression of myself and living the life of my dreams.

I signed up for this workshop for my own pleasure.

and you know what?

It is supporting me in being a better coach with my clients and a more successful business owner.

I’m already applying a lot of the things I learned in this workshop in my work. My knowledge of the Enneagram combined with my 20-year expertise in the Myers-Briggs personality types and related models (Essential Motivators and Interaction Styles) is a KICKASS combination in supporting my clients finding the work they love and overcoming their unique challenges.

This is what happens when you do work you absolutely love.

What you do for fun helps you be better in your work.
Personal and professional development become the SAME thing.

How cool is that?!!

There is no more disconnect between YOU in your personal life and YOU at work

NO MORE feeling like you need to be two different people depending on the context.

YOU CAN BRING ALL OF YOURSELF IN YOUR WORK, including your passions and what makes you tick.

Do you want that, Isabelle? I know I want it for you!

Well, if you do, this is time for you to step into the work you love, or to step even more into it if you are already doing it.

YES. IT IS TIME!!

and I’m here to cheer you on.

(client story + VIDEO) Are you allowing yourself to dream?

(client story + VIDEO) Are you allowing yourself to dream?

“This is the first time in my life I’m allowing myself to dream. It’s good to take care of myself that way.”

This is what a client of mine said in our 1:1 session this week after two months of working together.

Read her story below or go directly to the video at the end of this article.

———————

She is in her mid-thirties and has been successful in her career, but has had a pattern of putting others first and trying to please everybody except herself.

  • As a result, she has lost the sense of who she is, what makes her happy, and what she truly desires.
  • When we started working together two months ago, she was unhappy in her work but had no clue what kind of career would make her happy.

After two months of diving into her authentic self through guided exercises, visualizations, powerful self-discovery activities:

  • her true desires and dreams are starting to resurface.
  • And she is starting to have visions of potential dream careers she would like to do, something she NEVER HAD BEFORE in her entire life.

This is beautiful to witness.

And the beauty of it is that this is coming all from inside of her, from her own intuition, and inner guidance she is learning to listen to.

It is HER OWN TRUTHnot someone’s else truth for her, not even my truth.

If you want to live the work and life of your dreams, you have to access YOUR OWN TRUTH

That’s it.

… and STOP asking someone else’s truth for you.

Yes, STOP IT.

… whether it’s your friend, your spouse, your parents, your manager, or even your coach!

Yes, even your coach! That’s right!

Oh, shocker, your coach cannot tell you what you should do with your work and life??!!

NO, and they should not

Unless you want to stay disempowered and lost by expecting others to tell you what to do.

A good coach:

  • guides you to re-access your own inner knowing and trust your own answers.
  • gives you powerful tools and guidance to do that.
  • shows you when you are listening or not listening to your own inner guidance. So that long term, you are empowered to do that by yourself.

This is what I do with my clients.

So, let me ask you this:

  • Do you know how to access your own inner guidance?
  • Are you allowing yourself to dream

Take the time to ponder that right now.

It is SO important in all areas of your life.

This is the PREREQUISITE to doing the Work you absolutely love and having the life of your dreams.

Until you can access your inner guidance and allow yourself to dream, you won’t be able to find work you truly truly love.

It starts from INSIDE, not outside.

Watch one of my most popular 4-min video below to hear more about how to allow yourself to dream.

To you finding your OWN TRUTH and allowing yourself to dream!

This is my deepest desire for you.

I own it. Do you?

I own it. Do you?

I am French American and I LOVE it!!

I love being bicultural.

I own it.

I am it.

I used to not own it.

Feeling like I had to choose.

Listening to all the judgements and opinions from people, family, society, or even my own.
Real or imaginary.
Internal or external.

“You have to choose.”
“Being bicultural is hard. You feel like you never belong anywhere.”
“You are abandoning your country.”
“You are betraying your native culture.”
“Why did you choose to live so far away from your family?”
“Are you really happy there?”
“It is not true happiness. You are lying to yourself.”
“Where is your home? You have to choose. You have to know.”

Screw that!

I AM BICULTURAL and I LOVE IT.
I AM HAPPY.
I don’t need to choose.

I totally own it and embrace it.

This is the freedom of choosing who I am and who I want to be, independently of the opinions of people, family, and society.

Let me ask you? What are you choosing to own today?

Yes, you.

Independently of friend’s, family’s, society’s judgments or even your own.

It is amazing how we let others or society’s judgments affect who we are, isn’t it?

Time to let go of all of that.

Time to OWN who you are.

You know…. that thing that you know deep down you are, but you have been hiding to please others.

Look within and make a choice.

TODAY.

Now.

Yes, now.

As you are reading this blog.

Stop and reflect.

I see you.

Stop giving your power away to others to define who you are.

It is not worth it.

You are the captain of your own life.

The captain of your destiny.

Nobody else.

But you.

To your freedom,
To the freedom of being who you truly are,

Isabelle

P.S. Please share with me what you are owning. I see and witness you. I stand by your side to own it. Always. This is my commitment to you.

I faced my fears and I went for it (and how you can too)

Have you postponed a dream you have had for years because of fears?

If so, you are not alone.

A week ago, I had to face my fears to honor the desire of my heart.
To go to a place I have dreamed of going for 17 years.

It was not easy and I resisted it at first.

If you are reading this blog, I have fulfilled this long time dream and I traveled to that place.

Want to hear where I traveled to, how I faced my fears, and how you can too?

Watch this video (14 min)

My intention is for you to be inspired to follow the desires of your heart!
